PreK Applications for 2026-27 Are Now Open!

In our December preschool survey, 83% of respondents expressed a strong interest in full-day prekindergarten options in Richfield Public Schools. We are thrilled to announce that for the 2026-27 school year, we are expanding our offerings to include full-day PreK at every elementary school in the District.

Our mission remains the same: to prepare your child for success by supporting their intellectual, emotional and social development in a positive, play-based and nurturing environment.

What’s New for 2026-27?

We are moving from a primarily half-day model to offering one full-day classroom (approximately 6.5 hours) at each elementary school. These classes run concurrently with the K-5 school day, making scheduling easier for families with older siblings in the district.

Full-Day Sites & Hours:

• Centennial Elementary: 8:10 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
• Richfield Dual Language School: 7:25 a.m.-1:55 p.m.
• Richfield STEM Elementary: 7:25 a.m.-1:55 p.m.
• Sheridan Hills Elementary: 8:10 a.m.-2:40 p.m.

Half-Day PreK at Central Education Center: 

• Morning session: 8:30-11 a.m.
• Afternoon session: 12:30-3 p.m. 
• Spanish Enrichment: Offered in morning and afternoon sessions.

Application & Placement Details

Applications are now being accepted! In alignment with our commitment to the community, approximately 50% of seats are reserved for students who qualify for early learning scholarships. Remaining seats will be filled as applications are received, with priority given to residents of Richfield.

• Transportation: Bus transportation is available for full-day students within school boundaries.
• Timeline: Initial class placements will be communicated the week of March 16-20, 2026. If your preferred site is full, you will be placed on a waiting list.
